The director and journalist Matt Tyrnauer, who wrote to Valentino for Vanity Fair, examines the public and private life of a fashion icon in his documentary Valentino: The Last Emperor. Granted unprecedented access to Valentino's house and office, the film offers an unusual look at his relationship withGiammetti as his creations are made of, his luxurious lifestyle and how the changes are in the world of Haute Couture in the shape of him. With an original soundtrack by Nino Rota, Valentino: The Last Emperor received his first American at the Toronto Film Festival 2008.
