In 1986, Ross McElwee (Sherman's March) and Marilyn Levine, a film about the 25th Anniversary of the Berlin Wall, as the imposing structure was still intact as the visible symbol of the hard-line communism in the world and the traditions of the Cold War. They thought they did a documentary on the city of tourists, soldiers and West Berlin, which is emblazoned in the presence of the seemingly eternal eyesore graffiti lived. But in 1989, when the original film nearing completion, theWall and McElwee and Levine returned to Berlin to capture this time for the radically different atmosphere of the reunified city.
